I am interested in nontraditional ways of visualizing your family history. Unlike the literal documentations of fan charts and family trees this work seeks to visualize your spiritual DNA, key historical events, and narratives that are unique to each person’s ancestry. The work below shows the many ways these family structures can be imagined.
How it works
Start with one of your ancestors and trace your line back to their’s using Family Search, Ancestry.com or your own family tree. I take that information and imagine each generation as a level in your larger family structure. The common threads between those generations are mapped and connected with line. Your final family structure consists of the architectural structure, the connective tissue between generations, and your ancestral line written in pencil.
